Well, That’s a Measly Basket

So our usual weekly shop does not consist of spending so much time in the tinned food aisle. And it pained us to walk straight past the alcohol aisle and the meat and cheese fridges. The lack of fruit and veg screams scurvy at us but as long as we have our “Ready, Steady Cook” thinking in gear this week we should be able to concoct some creative meals from the random list of goods. The total of our basket came to £8.78 – a bargain week’s shop – not including chickpeas (Aldi isn’t classy enough to stock them, we’ll get them from Tesco tomorrow).

Tonight is our last night on the sauce for a week and we’ll be cramming in all the pizzas and takeaways we can eat before the clock turns midnight. Not quite the same as Cinderella’s story… Only 6 hours to go, better start pigging out…

Today’s Fun Fact:

Four out of ten British people believe that more than 10% of the population are refugees, that’s over six million people! Do you agree? Give your answer in the poll on the right and tune in tomorrow to find out if you’re correct.
